In order to ensure the safety of the School children in the ensuing flood that has reached dangerous levels, it is hereby notified that all Primary, Upper Primary and Middle Schools within the Chakma Autonomous District Council will remain closed from 8th August 2023 to 11th August 2023.
Kamalanagar, 8th August, 2023: In the wake of the recent heavy downpour that has resulted in severe flooding and landslides in various areas of the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC), Mizoram, the Hon’ble Chief Executive Member & Chairman of the Committee on CEM Relief Fund, Chakma Autonomous District Council, has taken swift action to address the situation. With deep concern for the well-being of the residents, the CADC authority has sanctioned financial assistance to support immediate flood relief efforts and the clearance of landslides in affected areas.
An amount of Rs. 2,30,000/- (Rupees two lakh thirty thousand) has been sanctioned from the CEM Relief Fund, Chakma Autonomous District Council, to provide immediate relief to those affected by the flood and landslides. The funds are allocated as follows:
Central Young Chakma Association: An amount of Rs. 2,00,000.00 (Rupees two lakh) is sanctioned to the Central Young Chakma Association. This allocation is intended to provide immediate flood relief to the victims within the Chakma Autonomous District Council.
Branch Young Chakma Association, Kamalanagar-III: An amount of Rs. 30,000.00 (Rupees thirty thousand) is allocated to the Branch Young Chakma Association, Kamalanagar-III, for the purpose of clearance of landslides that have posed a threat near the residences of Hiranand Tongchangya and Shanti Ranjan Chakma in Kamalanagar-III.
The Chief Executive Member & Chairman of the Committee on CEM Relief Fund has urged all relevant authorities and organizations to work collaboratively to ensure the safety of the people in this crisis.
Applications are invited on plain paper from interested persons for proposal of providing Housekeeping services at Chakma House, located at Hunthar Veng, Aizawl.

Kamalanagar, July 52023: Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma today inspected the Indoor Stadium being constructed at Kamalanagar-II. He was accompanied by Pu Lalneithanga Colney, the Sub-Divisional Officer cum Block Development Officer of Chawngte RD Block and Dg. Santosh Chakma, Executive Member, CADC i/c Sports & Youth Services.
The project is being funded by the North East Council (NEC) under Backward Blocks Grant Fund for an estimated cost of Rs. 65 lakhs (Rupees Sixty-Five Lakhs only). It is being implemented by Pu Lalhmingliana, former MP while the construction work is being undertaken by the Mizoram PWD Lawngtlai Division.
The Indoor Stadium will house two full sized badminton courts. Excavation work and construction of foundation upto plinth beam level has been completed. The CEM requested that the project be completed on time. Thereafter, the CEM and the SDO had a discussion on the urgency of constructing the approach and how to construct it at the earliest.
Kamalanagar, 1 July, 2023: Chakma Autonomous District Council Football Association was reconstituted today in a meeting convened by Chakma Autonomous District Council Football Association at the Conference Hall of CADC Rest House, Kamalanagar.

Kamalanagar, June 22, 2023: The CADC Emergency Budget Session for the fiscal year 2023-24 for an amount of Rs. 24,176.24 lakhs which was tabled on June 19 was discussed and passed today by 17 members voting in favour while one member Dg. Nirupam Chakma opposed and walked out of the session and another member Dg. Doymoy Daveng Chakma abstained.
Earlier, the Supplementary Demand for Grants, 2022-23 & Re-appropriation of Local Receipts Fund, 2022-23 were discussed and unanimously passed with all the members voting in favour. The Demand for Grants, 2023-24 which was also discussed and passed with 16 members voting in favour while one member opposed and another abstained from voting.
Dg. Nirupam Chakma speaking expressed that the process of passing of budget in the house is not as per Rule 126 (1) of the CADC (CCB etc.) Rules, 2002 as amended from time to time and Para 13 of the Sixth Schedule to the Constitution of India. He emphasized that the Executive Committee of CADC should pressure the State Government to implement such rule as enshrined in the Sixth Schedule.
Dg. Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, CADC and Leader of the House in his reply said that several representations have already been submitted to the State Government as well as the Central Government to implement Para 13 of the Sixth Schedule but to no avail. “The present form of passing of budget in the house has been followed from the beginning”, he added.
