CADC CEM takes stock of Kamalanagar Covid-19 situation; provides financial assistance to VLTFs & Covid Care Centres

Kamalanagar, 13 May, 2021: Chief Executive Member Dg. Durjya Dhan Chakma and two of his colleagues โ€“ Dg. H. Amaresh Chakma and Dg. Uday Tongchangya โ€“ both Executive Members, today took a visit around Kamalanagar town and its surrounding areas to take a stock of ongoing Covid-19 situation. The team stopped at each check-gates and handed over Rs. 5,000 as financial assistances to each VLTF for taking measures to mitigate the Covid-19 within their areas. The financial assistance was allocated from the โ€œCADC COVID-19 Fundโ€, which has been raised through contributions from generous individuals, MDCs and local MLA Dr Buddha Dhan Chakma.

The CEM interacted with VLTF members and enquired about the overall situation within their areas, number of confirmed Covid-19 cases, their recovery status; whether their civil supply rations reached regularly or not, and whether any household was running out of rations. He assured them all possible help as and when needed, and urged the VLTF to keep him informed of the situation within their respective areas from time to time.

An amount of Rs. 50,000 was equally distributed among the VLTFs of following localitiesโ€“ Kamalanagar-I, Kamalanagar-II, Kamalanagar-III, Kamalanagar-IV, Kamalanagar-V, Kamalanagar-VI, Aratinagar, Saizawh-West, Bajeisora, and Baganpara.

Financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 each was also provided to: 1. Covid Care Centre, Kamalanagar; 2. Covid Care Centre, Borapansury; 3. Community Covid Care Centre, Longpuighat; and 4. Community Covid Care Centre, Damdep-I.
The team also visited the Covid Care Centre, Kamalanagar, to see the arrangements first-hand. While interacting with the medical staff and volunteers on duty, the CEM took note of the caseload, recovery status, number of patients admitted/ discharged, and also enquired the availability of requisite medical equipment. He praised the medical team and volunteers for their efforts, indomitable spirit and dedicated service in the war against Covid-19.
