Kamalanagar, March 22, 2018: The Governor of Mizoram dissolved the 9th Chakma Autonomous District Council today for a second time. This happened within a period of about eight months.Earlier, His Excellency constituted a Commission with Dr. Arun T., Deputy Commissioner, Lawngtlai to examine complaints of maladministration in the District Council. Based on the report of the Deputy Commissioner, the Governor dissolved the Executive Committee for a period not exceeding four months or till reconstitution of the District Council on fresh general election whichever is earlier.

The Executive Committee headed by Kali Kumar Tongchangya was dissolved earlier on 4th July, 2017 and reconstituted afresh with Amit Kumar Chakma as CEM.
