CADC Monsoon Sesssion Begins

Kamalanagar, 21 July: Monsoon Session 2014 of 9th Chakma Autonomous District Council started today with the Hon’ble Chief Executive Member Dangu Buddha Lila Chakma presenting the second ‘Vote on Account’ for expenditure of the Council for the next four months i.e. August to November. Projected expenditure under Plan sector was for an amount of Rs.469.00 lakhs and Rs.1170.06 lakhs  under Non-plan sector of normal grant-in-aid.

Earlier, in the previous Session of the Council ‘Vote on Account’ for expenditure for the first four months of the current financial year was obtained. The Hon’ble CEM, CADC said, it was necessary because the Plan Outlay for the year 2014-15 then was not finalized due to General Election to Members of Parliament. This time the Government at the Centre was formed very recently and therefore, the Annual Plan size of the State could not be finalized and the State Government had to go for a Second ‘Vote on Account’. Since, the Council’s Budget Allocation is determined by the State Annual Plan size, the Council also had to go for a second ‘Vote on Account’.

Except Dangu Susen Chakma, EM, all other members were present. The Hon’ble Chairman Dangu Kali Kumar Tongchangya was on the Chair. The Session discussed as many as seven unstarred questions. The Session was adjourned at 12:00 noon. The ‘Vote on Account’ so placed by the House Leader shall be discussed and debated in its second sitting on 24th July 2014 and vote over the same will be sought on the same day.
